We received notification this week that Pecatonica High School is the recipients of two awards!
First, PHS has once again been selected as a 2023-24 Top High School by U.S. News and World Report. This year's rankings showcase the schools whose students demonstrate outstanding outcomes, surpassing the anticipated benchmarks, including achieving high graduation rates. The highest ranked public schools in the 2023-2024 Best High Schools national rankings are those whose students achieved exceptional scores on state assessments for math, reading and science. These schools also had strong student performance, college readiness and curriculum breadth, as well as graduation rates. PHS is among the top 25% of high schools in the State of Wisconsin!
Our second award comes from Southwest Technical College. We received word that PHS has achieved gold level status for dual credit participation in the 2022-2023 school year. To achieve this gold level, between 50%-64% of our high school students are participating in CollEDGE Up or Start College Now or are taking transcripted courses, which are courses taught by PHS staff whereby the students earn both college & high school credit.
HUGE shout out to our PHS staff, but we could not reach this level of achievement with the support of our families and communities. Thank you for entrusting your children to us. We may be a small rural district, but we are committed to providing a world class education!
